This is just a little update to let folks know that we're still active with our Saturday and Monday servings! Thanks to the people who have written to ask what's up due to the lack of regular updates. Mostly, it's because there haven't been changes with servings, and that's good news in terms of stability. The news would be even better if so many people weren't without the option of healthy meals each day -- and recent evictions of low-income housing units in our city have been a big obsticle for local efforts for safe and affordable shelter -- but there are a lot of amazing people working within our community. Thanks to everyone who has supported FNB as we enter our 14th year in Spokane!

Servings are now on Saturdays and Mondays, 6pm, at 1st and Madison!

Food Not Bombs will be serving two days a week! Some friendly folks are starting a serving on Wednesday nights, 5pm, on the corner of 1st and Madison. We also began receiving donations once again from Huckleberry's (yay!), so there shall surely be plenty for all!

Thank you to everyone who came to our benefit shows last month! It's surely helped us to make it through these past few weeks. Hopefully we'll be having another show or two before the summer's end.
We're still on the seemingly neverending quest for a community cooking space. If you have any ideas, please write us (spokanefnb@riseup.net), and let us know!

What was our largest source of donations, Huckleberry's Natural Market, is no longer going to donate to us. Indeed, boxes upon boxes of good produce shall now be thrown into a dumpster which is locked in a garage.
This means that we really need help with donations! If you or friends/family have a garden and may have excess produce this summer, we would gladly take some! Also, any donations of canned veggies, tomato sauce, potatoes, beans, rice, and the like would be awesome!
We would also appreciate it if anyone wants to go in and tell the managers at Huckleberry's that their decision takes away from a valuable resource in our community. They're located at 926 S. Monroe. Maybe if we get enough people going in, they'll change their mind. It's at least worth a try. Please write us at spokanefnb@riseup.net and let us know what their response is! :)
